I once knew a man who was set apart
from the hither and thither of life. He could talk for hours about love and art but he still secretly wished for a wife I once knew a woman who was holy her ecstacies were wondrous and wild. I took notes on the visions she told me. But she was still never granted a child. I once knew a woman who was so mean she deserved her vulgar husband's abuse. They'd so many children it was obscene all raised violently, cruelly and loose.
I wonder again at justice and grace
and wondered how each can have its own place. |
